The Republic of Korea maintains visa waiver or exemption agreements with numerous countries and regions, allowing participants from these areas to stay without a visa for approximately 30 to 90 days. Please note that the list of visa-free countries and the permitted period of stay are subject to change. Participants are strongly advised to verify the latest information with the relevant Korean embassy or immigration authorities before travel.
K-ETA is mandatory for nationals from visa-free entry countries who enter Korea without a visa. You should apply for the K-ETA at least 72 hours prior to boarding the flight bound for the Republic of Korea. You can apply for K-ETA website or mobile app (K-ETA).
- The K-ETA fee is 10,000 KRW/per person (approximately 9~10 USD, additional fees excluded) and is non-refundable even if the application is denied. ※ K-ETA Center is not responsible for any third-party (agency, etc.) fees for the transaction.
- The validity period of K-ETA (3 years in general) is irrelevant to the allowed period of visa-free stay. Those who enter the country via K-ETA cannot stay beyond the allowed period of visa-free stay permitted by their nationality. The allowed period of visa-free stay per entry differs by nationality. Therefore, please refer to the allowed period of stay at the K-ETA Application Eligibility Guide.
- K-ETA approval may be denied or canceled in any case of submitting false or inaccurate information on the K-ETA application, and that person may be subject to penalties or entry restrictions according to relevant Korean laws. The same will be applied to those who are applying on behalf of the applicant.
